What is the Baby Girl Project?
The Baby Girl Project is a non-profit organization in Richmond, Virginia whose mission is to provide an education for children, especially girls, who would otherwise not be able to attend school. The Baby Girl Project is a major partner with Free the Children, an organization of children helping children based in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2004 by Susan Hughes, The Baby Girl Project has raised over $432,259 and has funded the construction of 35 schools, including our first secondary school, 1 library & 1 clean water project in the Masai Mara region of Kenya. These schools help empower young Masai and Kipsigis girls and boys with the hope for a brighter future through education.
The Aquarian Bookshop in Richmond proudly sponsors The Baby Girl Project’s semi-annual Psychic Festival where more than 40 readers and healers volunteer their time and talents to fundraiser for this great cause. www.babygirlproject.org
